Those in attendance were John Sharum, Linda Happel, Bob Feigen, Barbara Conley, Juliana Tillman, Maureen Carden, Loretta Pagni, Celia Niemerow, and Susan Kendall.
The meeting was called to order at 11 am by out-going President, Linda Happel and turned over to in-coming President John Sharum.
The minutes of the November meeting were read by John Sharum for out-going Secretary, Kim O’Connor in her absence. The minutes were approved as read with correction of spelling of two members names.
Juliana Tillman, out-going Treasurer, reported that there was $4, 038.13 in our checking account and $3200 in the savings for a total of $7, 238.13. The money to the schools, i.e. $750 each for Summerville High School and Sonora High School were paid and also $450 for deposit for reservation for the Opera Hall for October 2020.
Photo Club Members (Connie Cassinetto, Mel Martin, Catherine Stanton and Kathy Syverson) were introduced and discussion of the collaboration of the two groups ensued. They have made amendments to the By-laws to reflect their joining our membership and are to send those By-laws to John for incorporation of articles into our By-Laws which are being revised.
There was discussion on what personal information should be included in our website and Newsletter regarding the board members. It was voted that no personal information, i.e. phone numbers, e-mail addresses, should be listed and that our publicity should include our website for information, not personal contact information.
There was discussion of programs as we no longer have a Program Chairman and Barbara Conley has been acting program chairman. Michael Severin will demo in February, but March and April are still open. Discussion was held regarding April when we do not have access to the Library conference room and Barbara will contact Leslie Hurst to see if we could have a meeting, centering on Plein Air painting, at Hurst Ranch in April. Also perhaps Leslie Hurst would agree to do a demonstration. This will be investigated.
A discussion was held on the funding to the schools. Summerville, through Donors Choose, was able to double their funding of $750 and with an additional donation, Sarah Castle, Art Instructor, was able to fund and receive her drying station which will be used in the new art room at Summerville High. Sonora High School was given $750 for art supplies and Sonora Elementary was given $500 for mono-printing supplies. A total donation of $2,000, raised through our 66th Art Show, was made to the schools.
Work will be completed on the By-Laws which will be sent to members for review through our secure website for members only.
The board meeting was adjourned at 12 noon.
