About the MLAA
The Mother Lode Art Association is a nonprofit organization founded in 1951 to promote the arts and appreciation of the arts in our community. Meetings are held at 1:00 pm on the third Monday of each month except July, August and December. After many months in which Oak Hill Presbyterian Church generously provided us with a meeting place, we are back in the Community Room in the Main Library at 480 Greenley Road, Sonora, CA 95370. We sponsor a Juried Art Show each year and our Plein Air Group meets weekly, weather permitting. In 2008, the MLAA founded the Aloft Art Gallery to provide members with a venue to show their work. The Gallery, located at 105 S. Washington Street in downtown Sonora, is member-run.
