About the MLAA
The Mother Lode Art Association is a nonprofit organization founded in 1951 to promote the arts and appreciation of the arts in our community. Meetings followed by an art demo are held each month except July, August and December. Check this page for updated information on times and places of meetings. We sponsor a Juried Art Show each year and our Plein Air Group meets weekly, weather permitting. In 2008, the MLAA founded the Aloft Art Gallery to provide members with a venue to show their work. The Gallery, located at 105 S. Washington Street in downtown Sonora, is member-run.

Preparations are in full swing. Any artist 18 years or older is eligible. Go HERE to the 69th Show Page to view the full Prospectus and Calendar and to download our fantastic new entry form! Go HERE for some photos from last year's highly successful Show. This prestigious event is our major fundraiser, with proceeds going to support the arts in local schools. We need volunteers! Attend our meeting on Monday, March 18 to learn more or to make yourself known, if you're interested in helping out. The Show runs from delivery of artwork on April 9 to pickup on Sunday, April 21.
