Hoping for a 2021 Fine Art Show!
Our Fine Art Show for 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic. However, we have reserved our Opera Hall venue for the fall of 2021 and we are hopeful that the show will go on! Interested in volunteering? There's no time like the present.
Business is Great at the New Aloft Gallery
Despite the ongoing pandemic Aloft Gallery has been doing very well in its new location at 105 Washington Street in downtown Sonora. We have a wonderful collection of work by new artist members as well as old friends. People who had to cancel vacation plans for 2020 are buying art! The site itself, in the historic Baers Building, is worth a visit. Go here for Aloft information or visit the Gallery website at www.aloftartgallery.com
The Aloft Gallery reserves space for MLAA members to show their art free of charge. The space is reserved for members who are not also members of Aloft. Interested? Go here to our "Contact Us" page to get in touch with Susan Kendall. Don't miss this opportunity!
2021 Board Positions OpenMLAA is seeking volunteers for the following positions on the 2021 Board: Vice President, Treasurer/Membership, Program Chair and School Liaison. We currently have some Board members doing double duty, which works for now, but not when activity picks up (as we hope) later in 2021. Interested? Contact President John Sharum through the "Contact Us" page for more information.
The Mother Lode Art Association is a nonprofit organization founded in 1951 to promote the arts and the appreciation of the arts in our community. Because of the Covid 19 pandemic, no meetings are currently planned. We look forward to getting back to our regular schedule, in which meetings are held at 1:00 pm on the third Monday of each month except July, August and December, in the Community Room of the Tuolumne County Public Library at 480 Greenley Road, Sonora. Meetings are announced in the Union Democrat Weekender. Our free artist demos are held after each meeting. Members receive an electronic newsletter several times a year and have access to venues where we can hang our work free of charge. Click here for information on how to join the Mother Lode Art Association. To contact anyone on the Board or a committee chair, click here. Your message will be directed to the recipient.
